What is a Perinatologist?
"Perinatal" refers to the period from about the 20th week of gestation and to about 4 weeks after birth. A perinatologist is an obstetrician who specializes in the care of the mothers and babies who have a higher-than-normal risk for complications.A high-risk baby might be cared for by a perinatologist before birth and by a neonatologist after birth.
